World’s Biggest Garage Sale Returns
The World’s Biggest Garage Sale returns again this year to Twin Lakes Church. It will be held on Saturday, April 25 from 8 AM until 2 PM, and proceeds go to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank. It’s best to come early because the best stuff will go quickly, and the parking lot will fill up.

- Sporting goods
- Rare, one-of-a-kind items
They also sell fresh hot coffee and a variety of baked goods to keep your fortified as you look hunt among the treasures you’ll find there.
Syngery is Cardio-Kickboxing at Whole Foods
Syngery is Cardio-Kickboxing at Whole Foods this weekend! Matthew Reyes, the HARD.CORE instructor from Synergy in Aptos, has been invited by Whole Foods Market in Capitola to teach a Cardio-Kickboxing class in the parking lot this Sunday, March 15th at 10 AM.
This event will be a benefit for the Whole Planet Foundation, a charity that benefits women in poor and underprivileged communities around the globe, through micro-loans which allow them to create and grow business.
Tickets to the event are $12, and Vega protein brand will be there offering sample protein shakes. In addition, Synergy will be raffling off a number of goodies, including free classes! This is a great opportunity to support a worthy charity and a great local Aptos business – and get some exercise while you’re at it!
Synergy has created an Event on their Facebook page, where you can sign up to attend. From there, you can also invite your friends to come as well. Please help Synergy get the word out and share this event with all your fitness-loving friends and family!

Caroline’s Non Profit Thrift Shop
Caroline’s Non Profit Thrift Shop is located in Aptos Village. The shop was founded in 2010 by Christina Licker, who continues to work as the director today. Their primary mission is to raise funds for Santa Cruz County non-profits that have programs and/or services for children with special medical, developmental, or psychological needs.
The majority of the funding from Caroline’s Non Profit Thrift Shop goes to their “core four” charities:
- Children’s Hospice and Palliative Care Coalition
- Hospice of Santa Cruz County
- Jacob’s Heart
- SPIN (Special Parents Information Network)
In just over four years, Caroline’s Non Profit Thrift Shop has donated over $600,000 for these and other worthy causes.
The shop is staffed by approximately 70 volunteers and is loaded with unique, high-quality, and rare items that have been donated by families near and far. They have a little bit of everything: dishes, linens, children’s clothing, toys, sporting goods, ladies clothing, accessories, a few choice items for men, and furniture, art and lighting.
