Aptos is not generally compared to the world’s biggest shopping towns, like New York, London, or Tokyo – and with good reason! Aptos has a small-town vibe and most of the Aptos Shopping Centers identified on this page are casual, laid-back places where suit and tie are very much an exception, rather than a norm.
The largest shopping center in Aptos is the venerable Rancho del Mar Shopping Center, and it’s also one of the largest in all of Santa Cruz county. The Deer Park Shopping Center is a close second in size, with the Seascape Village shopping center close behind.

These centers represent the best of (if not the entirety of!) shopping in Aptos, and feature everything from supermarkets, fine dining, boutiques, clothiers, salons – virtually everything under the sun! Most of the Aptos shopping centers can be found right along Soquel Drive, between State Park Drive and Rio del Mar Boulevard. This “urban core” makes up the heart of modern-day Aptos, and all of these shopping centers are within a few minutes drive of each other.
