
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be holding two free driver safety workshops at the Aptos Library in April. The workshops are designed both for teen drivers and their parents, as well as for mature drivers to teach them how to drive smart as they age. The dates and times for the workshops are:
Start Smart: Driving Smart to Stay Safe
Tuesday April 14 • 6:30-8:30 PM
For teenage drivers and their parents. This workshop focuses on how choices behind the wheel can affect the lives of many. Participants will learn about:
- Defensive Driving
- DUI Awareness
- Traffic Laws
- Collision Dynamics and how to avoid them
Age Well, Drive Smart
Friday April 17 • 10 AM-12:30 PM
The Age Well, Drive Smart workshop provides the keys to driving safer and driving longer. Topics include:
- How to tune up driving skills
- Refreshing knowledge of Rules of the Road
- Normal age related physical changes and how to adjust for them
- How to recognize when it’s time to limit or stop driving
