This past May, the merchants of Aptos Village teamed up with a number of sponsors to put on the first annual Aptos Wine Wander. The proceeds from this event were to benefit the three local Aptos elementary schools: Mar Vista, Rio del Mar, and Valencia. The dust has now all settled, the numbers have been crunched, and they are pleased to announce that the Wind Wander raised $4,067 for Aptos schools. This amount will be divided evenly between the three elementary schools; each will receive $1,355 and change.
Plans are already under way for the 2nd Annual Wine Wander. The date is tentatively planned for May 5, 2017. Next year, they plan to expand the event and raise funds for Aptos High and Junior High as well.
This event would not have been possible without the generous support in particular of Testorff Construction, Appenrodt Commercial Properties, Barry Swenson Builder, and the Santa Cruz Mountain Winegrowers Association. Thanks to everyone who came out and participated in the Wine Wander, we’re all looking forward to next year’s event!
