One of the largest employers in Aptos is having a job fair! Yes, our beloved (yet much maligned) Safeway supermarket is holding a job fair on Thursday, June 16th, from 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Anyone who is interested is invited to apply first online at http://www.careersatsafeway.com/. Safeway’s web site currently lists 12 positions open at the Aptos store:
- Cake Decorator
- Clerk-Office/Retail
- Courtesy Clerk
- Deli Clerk (two positions)
- Food Clerk
- Fuel Station Attendant-Retail
- GM/HBC Clerk
- Meat Clerk
- Pharmacy Clerk
- Produce GM Clerk
- Starbucks Clerk
Some of these positions likely provide benefits, as described on the company’s benefits page, including health care and paid time off. A job at Safeway might not pay enough to buy a home in Aptos – but you can’t argue with the commute.
