The Santa Cruz Public Library System (SCPL), a network of 10 neighborhood library branches throughout Santa Cruz County, today announced a special event in the Armchair Travel series featuring former County Supervisor Ellen Pirie.
Pirie, also a previous Library Joint Powers Board member, recently returned from Ethiopia where she served in the Peace Corps. According to Library Director Janis O’Driscoll, “Learning about different cultures expands our point of view and helps us grow. This is sure to be a thought provoking presentation.” In addition to her Peace Corps experience, Pirie will also discuss her upcoming June posting to the Caribbean with her husband Terry Hancock.
