The Santa Cruz Public Library System, in partnership with the Santa Cruz Police Department, the County Office of Education and the District Attorney’s Office is putting a spotlight on the need for cybersecurity. The Libraries are hosting a series of free cyber security workshops in January. The first Cyber Security Workshop is at the Aptos Library on Wednesday, January 7 at 7:00 PM and focuses on parents and educators.
Whether you are a business owner, a parent, a child, a teacher, a student, or a senior, to a large degree it’s up to you to ensure your own cyber security. By practicing strong and safe online habits, you can better protect your identity and the networks you use at home, at work, and anywhere you log on.
Join Library IT Manager, Lynne Sansevero, at one of four cybersecurity workshops designed to help you connect safely. The class will be approximately 45 minutes long, with additional time at the end for questions and answers.
If you can’t make it to the workshop in Aptos on Wednesday, several other workshops are planned for January:
