Today, November 16 2014, Aptos Community News Turns 1 Year Old. It is the one year anniversary of the day that the AptosCommunityNews.org domain was registered and the first content published. The site was created with the idea of bringing “community” news to the people who love Aptos, “sharing and caring” about what happens in Aptos.

The very first Place created on this site was the Forest of Nisene Marks State Park.
The first News item was about the Monterey Bay Sanctuary Trail Plan, an issue of significant importance to many Aptosians, and indeed many people throughout Santa Cruz county.
The very first Post is the Aptos Hotels Overview.
The very first Page is about the Neighborhoods of Aptos, California.
The most read posting so far has been about the removal of the Seacliff Memorial Wall.
When searching for “Aptos News” on Bing.com and Yahoo.com, AptosCommunityNews.org is currently the 3rd highest-ranked web site for that search word. On Google, the site currently comes up as the 12th highest-ranked web site for Aptos news, appearing as the 2nd entry on the 2nd page.
Analytics for the first year are spotty – they didn’t start to get tracked until January 2014 – but as of this time, the site has hosted 10,173 sessions, with 7,424 distinct users, and 26,596 page views.
