The Soquel Creek Water District board of directors will be meeting on Tuesday, April 29 at 7 PM at the Seascape Resort. Topics for discussion will include the results of a community survey, and, importantly, to address the issue of will-serve letters to people seeking to build, rebuild, or remodel their property.
At a previous meeting on April 1, the board decided to defer approval for any new water connections, as they are presently considering declaring a building moratorium. The goal of the moratorium would be to prevent any construction that would increase overall water use on a site.
Any such moratorium would, of course, have significant consequences for the community, especially for those in the construction and remodeling businesses. Concerned citizens are encouraged to attend the board meeting and have their voices heard.
The meeting will be recorded by Community TV of Santa Cruz County for playbacks on their government/public affairs channel 25/71.
