Aptos Cinema upgrade is complete

The Santa Cruz Sentinel is reporting that the Aptos Cinema has completed a $250,000 upgrade featuring new seating and a digital screen with 3D technology. This despite the fact that the Aptos Cinema may only have another two years in its future, as the redevelopment of the Rancho del Mar shopping center does not have a theater in the plans.

The amount of seating at the Aptos Cinema has dropped sharply (by almost 50%), as the new seats take up much more space than the old ones. Moviegoers though will have much more legroom now and won’t have to stand up to let others pass by them.
