Virtual Senior Art Show: Dominic Ramirez

The UCSC Art Department is hosting virtual online senior shows for students that would have been exhibiting in the Eduardo Carrillo Gallery in the Elena Baskin Visual Arts studios. Senior Mallory Mahon has selected 12 images for Linear Layers, a photobook project that explores everyday spaces with a focus on formal properties such as light, line, and shape. Solitary Garden is the participatory public sculpture and garden project by award-winning artist jackie sumell. Solitary Garden creatively advocates for the end of solitary confinement and mass incarceration in the United States and asks viewers and participants "to imagine a landscape without prisons." A major art and science project by Newton Harrison and his late wife and lifelong collaborator Helen Mayer Harrison, Future Garden, is now on view at the UC Santa Cruz Arboretum and Botanic Garden.
